Performance Management Analyst
Job Summary
The Organizational Development Consultant – Performance Management is a senior, enterprise-level role responsible for setting and driving the strategy, governance, and effectiveness of performance management across UCSF. Reporting to the Director of Organizational Effectiveness, this role ensures that performance practices are consistent, data-driven, and fully embedded into how leaders manage, evaluate, and develop their teams.
Responsibilities
Leads the enterprise performance management strategy, including frameworks, timelines, expectations, and tools. Establishes clear standards for goal setting, evaluation, and development to ensure consistency and alignment across UCSF.
Designs and leads enterprise calibration processes to ensure rigor, fairness, and consistency in performance ratings. Partners with HRBPs and senior leaders to reinforce expectations for differentiation and quality of evaluations.
Drives enterprise accountability for performance review completion, including setting targets, monitoring progress, and escalating risks. Partners with HRBPs and leadership to ensure timely and complete participation across all business units.
Owes performance data strategy, including dashboards, reporting, and analytics. Provides actionable insights to HRBPs and senior leaders on trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve performance outcomes.
Pairs closely with HRBPs as the primary interface to the business, equipping them with tools, insights, and guidance to drive adoption, accountability, and alignment with enterprise performance practices.
Works with Learning & Development and Organizational Effectiveness teams to strengthen leader capability in performance management, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, and evaluation.
Leads implementation and ongoing enhancement of performance management systems and processes, incorporating feedback and evolving business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 5 – 7 years directly related experience in organizational development/performance management.
- Advanced expertise in performance management strategy, governance, and execution.
- Demonstrated ownership of enterprise-wide programs, including driving adoption and accountability.
- Strong experience with calibration processes, performance data, reporting, and analytics.
- Proven ability to increase compliance and completion of enterprise processes through influence and structure.
- Experience partnering effectively with HRBPs and senior leaders in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Strong consulting, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Executive-level communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution.
