Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse

This role involves providing direct nursing care within various hospital units, including adult, pediatric, and geriatric populations. It requires clinical leadership, serving as a role model to promote a positive work environment and high-quality patient care. The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications (including IV), assist with tests and procedures, and respond to emergencies. Ensuring patient safety by following policies, reporting concerns, and maintaining a safe environment is essential. The position involves documentation, patient education, and participation in orientation and training activities, including precepting new staff. Qualifications include a graduate of an accredited nursing program, at least 2 years of related experience, and valid RN licensure. Mandatory certifications encompass CPR, BLS, and ACLS. The role demands physical strength for patient handling and adherence to safety protocols, including PPE use for hazardous materials. It offers shift differentials for night and weekend shifts, with compensation influenced by experience and education.
