Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse

Role Overview: Provide direct nursing care within the nursing process, serving as a clinical leader and role model to promote a positive work environment and high-quality patient care across diverse age groups, including neonate to geriatric. Key Responsibilities Ensure patient safety by following policies, reporting hazards, and promoting patient participation in care.Implement and document individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient teaching.Administer medications, assist with tests and procedures, and respond to emergencies.Maintain accurate medical records and handle departmental inquiries.Participate in orientation, training, and precepting new staff.Promote a safe, therapeutic environment adhering to hospital standards. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited nursing program with at least 2 years of relevant experience.Licensed RN in the applicable state or as per reciprocal agreements.CPR certification required within 30 days; additional certifications like PALS or TNCC are a plus.Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in environments with biohazards, chemicals, and other hazards requiring PPE.
