Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse

About the Role

This position provides direct nursing care in a psychiatric emergency setting, emphasizing patient safety, education, and environment management.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and assist with tests and procedures.
• Implement individualized care plans and ensure accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and participate in orientation and preceptor duties.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic environment for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
• Respond to emergencies and report safety concerns promptly.
• Encourage patient participation in their own care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of two years of related nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure.

Certifications

• CPR/BLS certification (required).
• Additional credentials (preferred).

Physical Demands

• Physical strength required to handle heavy work.
• Adherence to safety protocols involving hazardous materials.
