Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse

About the role

This role involves providing direct nursing care within the inpatient adult services department, working primarily night shifts with applicable shift differentials.

Responsibilities

• Following patient safety policies and proactively identifying safety concerns
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient education
• Administering medications accurately, assisting with tests and procedures, and managing emergency situations
• Ensuring accurate documentation in medical records and responding to departmental inquiries
• Participating in orientation, training, and mentoring new staff
• Promoting a safe, therapeutic environment and encouraging patient engagement in their care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with a valid RN license in the state
• At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience
• CPR certification required within 30 days of employment
• Preferred: Bilingual skills, specialty certifications such as PALS, TNCC, or ENPC

• Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting up to 50 pounds
• Adherence to safety protocols, PPE use, and infection control standards
