Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse

Role: Provide direct nursing care within a hospital setting, working with diverse patient populations including Neonate to Geriatric, and offering clinical leadership to staff. Promote a positive work environment and ensure compliance with hospital policies. Implement and document individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient/family education.Administer medications safely, assist with tests and procedures, and respond to emergency situations.Maintain patient safety by following protocols, reporting safety concerns, and fostering patient participation in care.Participate in professional development, orientation, and mentoring new staff. Qualifications Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program with at least 2 years of relevant experience.Current RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and ACLS certification required.Preferred bilingual skills and additional certifications such as PALS or TNCC.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in environments with hazardous materials, adhering to PPE requirements. Skills: Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to patient safety and quality care.
