Per Diem Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator (La Quinta, CA)

About the role

The Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator employees will have the opportunity to work in different clinics and specialties on a per diem basis. This position performs medical, technical, and administrative support services to contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations, providing a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Take and record vital signs and medical histories
• Prepare patients for examination
• Aid in procedures as directed by the physician
• Provide administrative support to providers
• Schedule patient appointments in tandem with provider availability
• Interact with patients in person and on the phone
• Answer clinic phone
• Greet patients at check-in
• Collect patient information
• Update and maintain electronic records
• Verify insurance
• Handle visit payments
• Ensure the clinic has needed inventory for operation
• Perform clerical tasks

Requirements

• Current work authorization
• Experience working in an environment performing tasks related to front and back office duties related to this position
• Experience using standard exam room medical equipment and computers
• Experience working in a women's health, primary care, or multi-specialty clinic

Qualifications

• Bilingual-English/Spanish (preferred)

Pay

The full salary range for the Per Diem Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator is $ 29.77 per hour.

Schedule

Per diem appointees may be scheduled on a pre-scheduled basis or as needed on a day-to-day basis or called off from a pre-established schedule as determined by the University and clinical operation needs.
