Per Diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

About the role

Provides anesthesia care in the operating room, supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under supervision. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, postoperative follow-up, and acting as a patient advocate and liaison among patients, families, and physicians.

Typically performed in a clinical setting, with an emphasis on safety, collaboration, and continuous learning. Candidates should adhere to organizational policies and demonstrate professionalism in patient care and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Anesthetizes patients, selects appropriate drugs, and monitors patient status during procedures.
• Adjusts medications as needed and manages anesthesia variants.
• Communicates patient condition to surgical team and assesses hemodynamic and equipment status.
• Performs thorough preoperative evaluation, organizes OR equipment, and ensures a safe environment.
• Responds to emergency codes, maintains airway, and provides anesthesia support across areas.
• Accurately documents in patient EMR and safely transports patients post-procedure.
• Serves as a mentor and preceptor to staff, residents, students, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Strong clinical skills in anesthesia, patient assessment, and emergency response
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
• Knowledge of diagnostic equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, and safety protocols
