Per Diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

About the role

Provides anesthesia care in the operating room supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsibilities include preoperative evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia management, and postoperative follow-up. Acts as a patient advocate, ensuring safety and comfort, and facilitates communication among patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Anesthetizes patients, selects drugs, induces and maintains anesthesia.
• Monitors patient status, interprets hemodynamic data, and adjusts medications accordingly.
• Performs thorough preoperative assessments and organizes OR preparations.
• Responds to emergencies, manages airway, and maintains patient stability throughout perioperative care.
• Coordinates with surgical team, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring a safe environment.
• Documents accurately in patient EMR and transports patients safely post-procedure.
• Serves as a mentor and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, and students.

Qualifications & Skills

• Master's Degree in Nursing (required).
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to assess patient condition and respond effectively to emergencies.
