Per Diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

About the role

Provides anesthesia care in the operating room, supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under supervision. Conducts preoperative evaluations, postoperative follow-ups, and acts as a patient advocate, liaison, and confidant for patients, families, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Anesthetizes patients, selects drugs, and monitors patient response to anesthesia.
• Induces and maintains anesthesia, adjusting medications as needed, and treats anesthesia variants.
• Communicates patient status with surgical team and interprets hemodynamic waveforms and equipment data.
• Performs thorough preoperative assessments, organizes operating room setup, and conducts diagnostic equipment checks.
• Coordinates with staff to ensure patient safety, including positioning, troubleshooting, and surgical review.
• Responds to emergency codes, maintains airway, and provides anesthesia support across areas.
• Accurately documents in patient EMR, transports patients safely, and provides comprehensive hand-offs.
• Serves as an anesthesia expert, mentor, and preceptor, fostering team development.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Proven ability to monitor and adjust anesthesia, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain patient safety in a clinical environment.
