Per Diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Role Overview

Provides anesthesia care in the operating room, supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under supervision. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia management, and postoperative follow-up, acting as a patient advocate and liaison between patients, families, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Administers anesthesia, selects appropriate medications, and monitors patient response.
• Induces, maintains, and adjusts anesthesia levels; manages emergency treatments.
• Assesses patient status, interprets hemodynamic data, and ensures patient stability throughout perioperative phases.
• Prepares the OR with necessary equipment, monitors, and drugs; conducts equipment checks.
• Coordinates with surgical and nursing teams, ensuring patient safety and proper positioning.
• Responds to emergencies such as codes, maintains airway, and provides anesthesia support.
• Documents accurately in patient EMR and safely transports patients post-procedure.
• Serves as a mentor and preceptor for staff, residents, and students, sharing expertise.

Qualifications & Skills

• Master's Degree in Nursing (required).
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, patient assessment, and emergency response.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret clinical data and troubleshoot equipment effectively.
