About the role
Management Analyst position within the Peoria Police Department, focusing on process improvement, data analysis, and administrative support to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of departmental processes, workflows, and procedures to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate departmental effectiveness.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for management based on data analysis and research.
- Coordinate and facilitate process improvement initiatives, including cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist in budget preparation, tracking, and analysis related to departmental operations.
- Provide administrative support to police command staff, including preparing agendas, minutes, and correspondence.
- Research best practices in law enforcement administration and apply findings to departmental operations.
- Manage special projects as assigned, ensuring timely completion and alignment with departmental goals.
- Serve as a liaison between the Police Department and other city departments, external agencies, and the public as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in management analysis, process improvement, or a related field, preferably in a government or law enforcement environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Access, SQL, or statistical software).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of law enforcement operations, policies, and procedures is highly desirable.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Familiarity with municipal government operations and budgeting processes.
