About the role

The City of Peoria is seeking a Management Analyst to support the Development & Engineering Department. This position will perform professional and technical work in the analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, policies, and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis of departmental operations, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for management based on data analysis and findings.
  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of departmental budgets and grant applications.
  • Provide support in the development and monitoring of performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Serve as a liaison between the department and other city departments, external agencies, and the public.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in management analysis, process improvement, or a related field.
  • Experience with data analysis, report writing, and presentation development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a municipal or government setting.
  • Knowledge of local government operations, planning, and development processes.
  • Certification in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
