WHAT MAKES VOA SPECIAL? VOAC recognizes the unique needs of the older adult who needs a wheelchair ramp to stay at home safely, and the preschooler whose family needs additional resources. VOAC supports veteran’s efforts to exit homelessness as well as provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence. Wherever VOAC goes, it combines relationship-building, volunteers and quality services to lift and support our neighbor’s efforts to become self-sufficient and reach their full potential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for job postings, conducting phone screens, and partnering with hiring managers on initial interview scheduling and workforce planning.
- Routinely builds talent pipelines through attendance at relevant hiring events and by establishing and maintaining community partnerships.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants and refers complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Serves as overflow and backup to the People Services Specialist for onboarding functions.
- Maintains employee records by filing materials and recording changes in an accurate and timely manner.
- Develops and carries out functions related to the VOAC Employee Recognition Program.
- Participates in special projects related to evolving People & Culture initiatives to attract and retain top talent.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full-time
Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with 30-minute meal break
Hybrid eligibility up to 1 day per week

Minimum Qualifications of Position
- 1 year of experience in full-cycle recruiting within a mid-sized organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications of Position
- HR Certification
- Experience with Paylocity or other HRIS systems
