Responsibilities
- Oversight and management of a team of Peer Support Specialists.
- Ensuring the effective delivery of peer-based recovery services.
- Promoting recovery-oriented practices and integrating peer support services.
- Maintaining compliance with all state licensure and organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Educating other team members and stakeholders about the role and value of peer support services.
- Managing day-to-day operations of the Peer Support Program.
- Providing and documenting weekly in-person supervision with certified peer support staff.
- Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Overseeing financial management and coordinating budget development for the Peer Support Program.
- Cooking incentives for employees.
- Coordinating and facilitating scheduled team meetings.
- Providing direct peer support services based on recovery-oriented practices.
- Overseeing the planning and implementation of annual and ongoing training for Certified Peer Specialists.
- Acting as the designated agency representative, collaborating with internal teams and external investigative bodies.
- Overseeing documentation and record-keeping practices of peer staff.
- Preparing reports on program performance and client engagement.
- Managing program resources effectively, including staff scheduling and workload distribution.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED and four years of mental health direct service experience that may include Peer Support Specialist; and has completed the Certified Peer Specialist supervisory training curriculum approved by the Department.
- An associate degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, counseling, education or a related field from a program that is accredited by an agency recognized by the USDOE or CHEA, or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university approved by the USDOE; three years of mental health direct service experience that may include Peer Support Specialist; and has completed the Certified Peer Support supervisory training curriculum approved by the Department.
- A bachelor's degree in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, political science, history, criminal justice, theology, counseling, education or a related field from a program that is accredited by an agency recognized by the USDOE or CHEA, or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university approved by the USDOE; two years of mental health direct service experience that may include Peer Support Specialist; and has completed the Certified Peer Support supervisory training curriculum approved by the Department.
- A Mental Health Professional who has completed the Department approved Certified Peer Support supervisory training; two years of management experience preferred.
- Act 33, Act 34 clearance and FBI background check.
- A valid PA Driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
