Peer Job Coach
About the role
COMHAR is seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Job Coach to join our Clubhouse team. In this part-time role, you will provide peer-based support to members in achieving their vocational goals, fostering independence, and developing meaningful work skills. As a Peer Job Coach, you will use your lived experience to empower members, promote recovery, and create a supportive and inclusive work environment. You will work at multiple COMHAR sites and Philadelphia locations where members are employed, observing and inspecting their work, offering guidance, and reporting progress to the Clubhouse Placement Manager and Director.
Responsibilities
- Lead in encouraging and empowering Clubhouse members to prepare them for permanent work.
- Handle multiple activities and demands across various job sites with flexibility and capability.
- Convey vibrant energy to attract members and enable both staff and members to perform effectively.
- Collaborate with Employment Specialist, Placement Managers, and Clubhouse Director to manage placements with COMHAR and other employers.
- Work side-by-side with members during the Work-Ordered Day to establish trust before their Transitional Employment/Supported Employment (TE/SE) experience.
- Provide support and assistance to working members as needed.
- Obtain weekly progress reports from site supervisors.
- Report all issues or challenges related to placements to Placement Managers and Clubhouse Director.
- Participate in Clubhouse Meetings and Programs as scheduled.
- Maintain health and safety standards required by regulating agencies and COMHAR.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience providing support to individuals with mental health diagnoses.
- Current PA Driver’s License; satisfactory driving record; eligible to operate program vehicles.
- Completion of a 12-hour orientation on psych rehab/Clubhouse Model offered by certified trainers (to be completed within one year of hire).
- Experience working in the mental health field in a Clubhouse or Psych Rehab Program preferred.

Pay
$18.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM (flex time available as needed).
