About the Role
The Palliative Care RN provides comprehensive patient and family assessments, addressing medical, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial needs. They facilitate patient care, educate families, and coordinate with healthcare providers and social services to develop personalized care plans aligned with family goals. This role involves communication between patients, physicians, and support services, and includes assessing and managing end-of-life "Comfort Care" treatments. It requires nursing assessment skills and liaison abilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient/family assessments and education
- Coordinate with healthcare teams and social services
- Facilitate communication among patients, providers, and support services
- Assess and implement treatment plans, especially for end-of-life care
Requirements
- Washington RN license
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience, including oncology, medical-surgical, geriatric, critical care, palliative, or terminal care
- Strong conflict resolution and collaboration skills
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing
- Preferred: Hospice/palliative certification
- Preferred: Experience in pediatric and adult nursing
- Preferred: Grief counseling experience
