Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)

About the role

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Pediatric Neurology multi-disciplinary team. Nurse practitioners (NPs) at Cortica are passionate members of Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) team that strives to bring exceptional care to children and their families with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism. We are a rapidly growing healthcare company pioneering the most effective treatment methods for children with neurodevelopmental differences.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments that incorporate the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family member into the plan of care
• Triage referrals for acute needs to other members of the Cortica team
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team members to coordinate compendium of care for each patient
• Utilize the nursing process, scientific reasoning and critical problem solving to practice within the scope of responsibilities as defined by the California Board of Nursing including placing orders and screening tests in accordance with approved protocol(s) and guidelines
• Provide appropriate clinical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for all patient encounters
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Participate in annual performance reviews, as needed

• You are an excellent communicator, working well with an interdisciplinary team to identify complex patient and family needs to drive outcomes.
• You are knowledgeable regarding diagnoses and therapies for the following conditions: Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Speech and Language delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Headaches, Insomnia, Epilepsy (seizure action plan, safety), sensory processing disorder and other neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
• You have a minimum of 12 months in pediatric practice in an outpatient setting (pediatric or family nurse practitioner), preferably behavioral neurology and/or Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) and pediatric behavior disorders, including autism.
• You are proficient in ADIR/ADOS diagnostic evaluation (Gold standard).
• You have a telemedicine skillset including ability to leverage multiple forms of technology simultaneously in efforts to document while connecting with patients. (EMR, virtual wait rooms).
• You possess an active and unincumbered RN and NP License in practicing state, Board Certification (AANP or ANCC), eligible for payor credentialing.
• You have a knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
• You possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• You have a genuine desire to work with pediatric patients with neurodevelopmental conditions and/or other special needs.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• You have the desire to serve as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team working with children with developmental disabilities and their families/caregivers.

Pay

The base pay range for this opening is $60.43 to $75.53. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
