About the role

Hosts training sessions for students participating in clinical courses, including Fast Track Medical Assistant and Clinical Ladder classes. Serves as a trainer, mentor, and educational resource to staff, focusing on new employees and those needing additional training, and provides feedback to leaders. Develops and implements training materials, including competency checklists for clinical skills and new/ongoing clinical courses. Instructs clinical orientation, clinical courses, and annual competency sessions. Assists with onboarding student externs, including support with the application process, securing preceptors, and ensuring all documents and applications are complete and approved before rotations. Participates in Environment of Care Surveys, ensuring offices follow best practices and supporting staff education to promote Environment of Care initiatives. Schedules and coordinates meetings, classes, and event sessions for new hire orientations and education events. Proctors certification exams.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to speak and present to large groups.
  • Ability to provide one-on-one training and give effective feedback.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft technologies, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; ability to learn new technologies and/or processes.
  • Requires reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to travel within the region.

Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equiv
  • 2+ years of related clinical experience with completion of externship or 6 months relevant experience within an AdventHealth facility.
  • Experience as a clinical preceptor or trainer in designated role or field.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Experience teaching in formal/informal settings.

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
  • OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
  • OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC)

Skills

  • Microsoft technologies proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
