About the role

Under direction of the principal and/or teacher, this position supports students in behavior management, performs crossing guard duties, and monitors students at recess/lunch.

Responsibilities

• Support students in behavior management
• Perform crossing guard duties
• Monitor students at recess/lunch
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Able to be flexible and adjust quickly to the needs of the day
• Willing to work in cold weather
• Must provide consistent and reliable in-person attendance

Physical requirements and working conditions

• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position; requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles
• Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word; conveying detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; receiving detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound
• Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
