Responsibilities
- Aid in the processing of biweekly payroll for employees, ensuring all compensation, deductions, and adjustments are accurate and timely.
- Maintain up-to-date payroll records reflecting any changes such as salary adjustments, bonuses, terminations, and new hires.
- Enter and update employee information related to payroll, including hours worked, leave balances, tax withholdings, and other deductions.
- Verify and reconcile timesheets and other payroll-related data for accuracy.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, including pay discrepancies, deductions, and other payroll-related questions.
- Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Aid in the calculation and filing of payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local taxes.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the Payroll Manager in all payroll-related activities.
- Aid in the preparation of reports and analysis related to payroll.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
- Familiarity with Paycor (A Paychex company) is a plus.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees and management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
