About the Opportunity

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing payroll processes to ensure accurate and compliant compensation for employees. This role supports organizational consistency and integrity in payroll operations, handling sensitive information and addressing employee inquiries. The position contributes to the company's operational effectiveness by maintaining precise payroll records and compliance with tax laws.

Responsibilities

  • Review and audit new hire and departure data for payroll accuracy
  • Update payroll records with changes to tax and direct deposit information
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and calculate contract personnel pay
  • Process off-cycle payments, including retroactive pay and final paychecks
  • Manage involuntary deductions such as wage levies and garnishments
  • Provide employment verifications upon request
  • Complete union and certified payroll reports promptly
  • Comply with and enforce company policies
  • Perform additional assigned duties

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of payroll experience, preferably with DayForce or similar cloud-based systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage, tax laws, and payroll compliance; union payroll experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Pay

$75,000 - $85,000
