Responsibilities
- Supervises the activities of employees engaged in processing payroll.
- Prepares federal tax, state tax, and state retirement and optional retirement deposits and files monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and reconciliations.
- Investigates and responds to inquiries regarding payments, wages, and deductions.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Collaborates with timekeepers to resolve payroll issues.
- Prepares revisions to payroll operations manual.
- Recommends changes in policies and procedures to improve the payroll process.
- Serves as payroll leader in the absence of the Director.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of payroll processing work experience.
- Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations: None required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge: Knowledge of all payroll practices and tax laws.
- Skills: Knowledge of customer service procedures and standards; skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; ability to work within strict deadlines; ability to perform basic supervisory functions.
