Payroll Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to stakeholders across the business while identifying opportunities to improve processes, drive efficiencies, and enhance overall payroll operations.
Responsibilities

- Build strong cross-functional partnerships
- Gain a deep understanding of current payroll processes
- Lead initiatives that improve both team performance and operational effectiveness
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- 7+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience, including payroll tax compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing payroll teams
- Strong knowledge of payroll/HRIS systems, timekeeping systems, and Microsoft O365
- Experience managing payroll operations, including tax filings, W-2 reporting, garnishments, audits, reconciliations, and special pay processing
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of an organization
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- A collaborative, relationship-focused leader who is passionate about continuous improvement and developing high-performing teams
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Union and construction payroll experience, experience with multi-state payroll processing, knowledge of per diem processing, prevailing wage requirements, and union reporting, Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification, experience leading payroll system implementations, process improvements, or large-scale payroll projects, broad understanding of accounting, finance, and General Ledger reconciliation processes, experience with Capstone, E-Time, or similar payroll and timekeeping systems, exposure to fringe benefit administration, expense reimbursement programs, and wage attachment processing, ability to identify efficiencies, streamline processes, and implement payroll best practices across a complex organization

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $106,000.00 - $139,000.00. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
