About the role

Perform a variety of complex administrative and processing tasks, coordinating diverse elements of work processes that require functional knowledge of ADP Payroll systems, time keeping software, and accounting. Maintain employee files and payroll records for 1300+ employees, including direct deposit and legally required payroll deductions. Provide customer service to internal employees, responding to questions and resolving issues.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, input, and process payroll-related data for all 100 series employees.
  • Perform employee file maintenance to ensure data accuracy and currency.
  • Establish and follow efficient data flows to meet weekly deadlines.
  • Perform control functions to assure accuracy of payments and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements, including garnishments and federal/state regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR teams, plant management, and supervisors to resolve employee-related issues.
  • Update deduction information for taxes, meal tickets, food/merchandise purchases, and benefits.
  • Track employees in arrears on deductions and reconcile when necessary.
  • Maintain payroll and employee records as required by law.
  • Interpret handbook policies to answer questions from employees, HRBPs, and local HR teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on local union contracts (VA and NY) and provide ad hoc reporting on dues, health insurance, and pension.
  • Assist in departmental projects and initiatives to achieve goals.
  • Acquire and exhibit extensive knowledge of ADP payroll software, eTime clock interface, and WorkDay for research and data entry.
  • Troubleshoot problems with payroll service providers and Sr HRIS Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll processing (preferably with ADP).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a role requiring critical or analytical thinking.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and independent work skills.
  • High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
