Job Summary
This position is responsible for administering the firm’s time, attendance, and payroll systems for all employees, excluding Partners. The Payroll Coordinator ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll while delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and timely process payroll through UKG Ready for all firm employees (excluding Partners), including both legal professionals and business professionals, while maintaining comprehensive payroll records.
- Administer and manage all payroll system data, including benefits, leaves of absence, terminations, 401(k) and FSA deductions, and wage garnishments.
- Partner with the Human Resources Department to ensure accurate payroll updates related to benefits and leave of absence changes.
- Perform state and federal payroll tax reconciliations and support audits, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date payroll documentation and reporting, ensuring data integrity and readiness for review or audit.
- Act as the subject matter resource for employees regarding paid time off (PTO/FTO) balances and time-tracking inquiries.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of time and attendance data within UKG Ready by reviewing entries, resolving discrepancies, and coordinating updates as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of payroll experience in a professional services environment, preferably within a law firm.
- Experience with UKG Ready (payroll, time & attendance, and HRIS) required.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Strong technical proficiency, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to meet departmental standards and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong work ethic and flexibility, including a willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet business demands.
