About the role

The Payroll Coordinator ensures the accurate and timely payment of employees; coordinating all activities associated with processing multi-state payroll on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processes multi-state payroll on a weekly basis
  • Ensures that every employee is paid completely, accurately and according to all payroll laws and regulations
  • Processes special request payments and off-cycle checks
  • Completes onboarding of new hires, including Form I-9, and enters and maintains all employee information into payroll and other related systems
  • Completes off-boarding of employees in compliance with relevant state law
  • Processes wage garnishments, child support, levies, etc.
  • Submits invoices and payment requests with Accounts Payable, as needed
  • Affords assistance to Accounting with the procedure for unclaimed checks
  • Maximizes the use of payroll and timekeeping systems to optimize performance through working knowledge of all elements of the system
  • Completes Verifications of Employment for current and former employees
  • Completes Annual required reporting to various government entities
  • Completes internal and external audit requests

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience processing multi-state payroll and multi-state payroll taxes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to handling employee questions and issues promptly and professionally
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate effectively with peers

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience with UKG, Ultimate Software or Kronos
  • Working knowledge of SAP Success Factors FPC preferred but not required
  • Experience with international payroll including LATAM and/or Canada
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Experience in benefits and/or Total Rewards
