About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our Finance, Payroll team. This role will provide day-to-day support to the Payroll team, assisting with weekly and biweekly payroll processing, time and attendance administration, employee inquiries, and payroll record maintenance. The ideal candidate is dependable, highly accurate, comfortable working with payroll systems and data, and able to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Assist Payroll team members with the accurate and timely processing of weekly and biweekly payrolls using ADP Lyric
- Review employee timecards for exceptions, missing or incorrect entries, and other discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain accurate employee time and attendance records within the payroll system
- Process employee time-off requests accurately and in accordance with company policies
- Respond to routine employee payroll and timekeeping inquiries in a timely and professional manner, escalating more complex issues as appropriate
- Perform payroll data entry and assist with maintaining employee payroll information and records
- Review payroll information for accuracy and identify discrepancies requiring follow-up
- Organize and maintain payroll-related documentation and filing systems
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of employee payroll and personal information
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Payroll team as needed
Qualifications
- 1+ years of payroll, timekeeping, accounting, or related administrative experience preferred
- Working knowledge of payroll processes and best practices
- Experience with ADP Lyric or another payroll/time and attendance system preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
