Responsibilities
- Aid the Time and Attendance team with daily payroll-related tasks to ensure accurate employee hours and pay records.
- Review timesheet details, identify missing or inconsistent information, and follow up with field managers to secure timely approvals.
- Support payroll processing activities for a diverse workforce while adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
- Learn established payroll procedures through hands-on training, observation, and guided practice.
- Provide responsive service to employees and managers by addressing routine payroll and time-entry questions professionally.
- Track payroll items such as deductions or garnishments and ensure supporting information is recorded correctly.
- Adapt to changing priorities within the payroll function and assist with various administrative needs.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize payroll data, reconcile information, and prepare basic reports for the team.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Foundational knowledge of payroll principles, including payroll processing and full-cycle payroll activities.
- The ability to carefully review detailed information and maintain accuracy when handling timesheets and payroll data.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to ask thoughtful questions and coordinate with managers and team members.
- A customer service mindset with the ability to respond professionally to employee and supervisor inquiries.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for sorting, tracking, and reviewing payroll information.
- Familiarity with payroll topics such as garnishments is preferred.
- The ability to learn quickly in a team-oriented environment and follow established procedures consistently.
