Key Responsibilities
- Administers payroll information to ensure accurate and timely processing, including tax calculations, deductions, and deposits.
- Audits payroll reports before and after processing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintains accurate records of sick, vacation, personal, and compensatory time.
- Calculates termination pay, retroactive adjustments, performance compensation, and other special payments.
- Reconciles payroll accounts and assists with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Serves as a knowledgeable and confidential resource for employees and managers regarding payroll procedures.
- Assists in resolving payroll issues and discrepancies with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Provides guidance to managers on timekeeping procedures, payroll deadlines, and policy interpretation.
- May serve as acting Payroll Manager in the manager’s absence and collaborates closely with other Human Resources staff.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Experience with payroll systems required, experience with ADP Lyric preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Ability to process high volumes of financial data accurately under time constraints.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with employees, managers, and the public.
- Sound business acumen, including problem-solving, decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Professional attitude and commitment to high-quality work.
