About the role
The Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to oversee payroll operations, ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and manage collective bargaining provisions related to payroll. This role provides service and assistance to district employees and retirees on payroll matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage payroll operations using the iVisions and Frontline systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payrolls and payroll reports.
- Maintain all payroll records, reports, computations, and audits, including an internal control system for payroll operations, verification, review procedures, and regular updates.
- Oversee the time collection system and verify data entered for processing.
- Provide equitable service and assistance to all district employees and retirees.
- Work with the Fiscal Assistant to collect data for all audits.
- Manage the calculations and implementation of salary and wage provisions for all collective bargaining units.
- Work closely with Human Resources to manage and process benefit-related deductions and adjustments, including Workers Compensation, 403b, disability, and related items.
- Prepare reports and analyze data for payroll balancing, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity within iVisions and other systems.
- Assist in completing employer quarterly and year-end tax agency reports (forms 940, 941, W2, 1095C, Unemployment Quarterly, etc.).
- Prepare reports and respond to all payroll-related inquiries; perform research on payroll issues.
- Generate a wide range of payroll reports for the District Treasurer, including payroll registers, bank reports, child support and garnishment reports, and vendor reports.
- Reconcile, process, and transmit the monthly retirement report to the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement system using MyTRS pension software and to the Plymouth County Retirement system using Pension Technology.
- Maintain regular and consistent job attendance to support payroll cycles, demonstrating a high level of commitment and work ethic.
- Lead, guide, motivate, and develop staff members to ensure they are fully engaged in achieving the department’s mission.
- Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the role as requested by the Superintendent, Director of Business Services, or their designee.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, HR, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll management experience preferred.
- Ability to comprehend and explain complex policies, procedures, Social Security and Retirement laws, state and local tax laws, rules, and regulations related to payroll preparation and record maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with payroll software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be well-organized and detail-oriented.
