Exempt position reporting to the Manager – Treasury Management and Wire Operations within the Payment Operations department.

About the role

This position supports the daily operations of the Payment Operations team, including ACH and Wires, by developing and supporting processes to run the business and grow the organization. The role identifies and implements program efficiencies, supports process improvement internally, and collaborates with key stakeholders to improve member experiences. It also involves serving as a subject matter expert for projects, coordinating system testing, managing system outages, and governing relevant internal and external communications from the department.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison with internal and external stakeholders (business partners, IT, vendors) to identify upcoming changes, assess potential impacts, define scope requirements, develop operational plans, and implement enhancements.
  • Serve as the designated project subject matter expert (SME) as assigned.
  • Manage and review system access to owned business platforms, including conducting role reviews as part of periodic system audits.
  • Support the ongoing review, enhancement, and implementation of controls.
  • Participate in and support service pack upgrades, new feature testing, disaster recovery testing, and production impact triage and resolution.
  • Conduct and support risk assessments in accordance with corporate and regulatory policies for business systems and programs.
  • Develop compliant and user-friendly workflows to improve business practices and member experiences.
  • Review, identify, and implement process efficiencies using robotics and automation best practices to support future payments program growth.
  • Document, assess, and prioritize program opportunities.
  • Draft requirements for projects and new implementations.
  • Develop program procedures and documentation, serve as the training contact for the department, and facilitate role-specific training.
  • Draft member communications, inventory existing communications, and manage new notices and communications.
  • Coordinate remediation efforts, including internal and external communications.
  • Support and coordinate periodic and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Review program financials and key performance indicators, identifying ways to cut costs, add or remove programs, and guide platform growth to deliver service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations governing credit unions, as well as internal controls for effective data management.
  • Perform any other duties or special requests as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial services.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in operations, with practical experience managing financial products or services.
  • Experience with business banking systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of credit union operations or payments is highly desired.

Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make objective observations, examinations, evaluations, and recommendations.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with auditing, data processing, and general business administration.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and handle rapidly changing priorities.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (computer terminal, typewriter, adding machine, telephone, etc.).

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range (devices provided if needed).
  • Occasional movements throughout the department to interact with staff and accomplish tasks.

Licenses / Certifications

  • AAP (Accredited ACH Professional) Certificate desired and preferred.

Pay

$70,450.00 - $73,000.00 annually.
