Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and relay messages to the appropriate nurse
• Accurately enter and update patient demographics to ensure clean insurance claim submissions
• Respond quickly to patient and insurance company inquiries, including prior authorizations and refills
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain required authorizations before scheduling appointments
• Maintain current knowledge of department and HSC policies and procedures to ensure compliance
• Handle daily cash transactions, including accepting payments and performing end-of-day cash counts
• Attend and actively participate in monthly departmental meetings

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 1 year Customer Service, office, or related experience

Qualifications

• Medical clinic experience scheduling appointments, receiving patients, verifying insurance, and processing charges
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Cerner experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Pay

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.

Monday- Friday 8 am - 5 pm
