Patient Service Specialist

Candidate will be required to travel to multiple outpatient clinics. Areas of coverage: Aubrey, Prosper, Little Elm, The Colony, Carrollton, Coppell, Frisco, Plano, Richardson and Addison. Mileage reimbursement.

Compensation

Compensation depends upon candidate’s years of experience and internal equity. Starting salary: $18 - $25 per hour based off experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of insurance verification
  • Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration

Responsibilities

  • Check in and check out patients
  • Insurance verifications
  • Scheduling
  • Reports
  • Faxing and scanning
  • Office duties
  • Coordinates patient appointments
  • Works with Center manager to minimize cancellations and support Treatment adherence
  • Registers patient information
  • Ensures all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record
  • Verifies patient insurance
  • Obtains required authorizations before patient visit and explains benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies
  • Collects toward patient responsibility at each visit
  • Scans and maintains medical documents
  • Reconciles and posts charges daily and other reporting to ensure clean claim processing
  • Responds to all request for information from patients, other department and physicians
  • Maintains office
  • Orders supplies and manages mail

Schedule

Full Time. Hours vary between Monday - Friday 7am - 7pm.

Travel

  • Attends all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs
  • Travels to non-home location center or other site for coverage when necessary
