Patient Service Specialist

Location: 563 Northfield Ave, West Orange, NJ 07052

Schedule

• Must be flexible Monday - Friday 7am - 8pm
• 40 hours weekly
• Saturday morning availability required

Pay

$20-$24 hourly depending on years of experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees, and referral sources through coordination and administration of facility’s “front office” activities
• Perform office functions such as patient scheduling, reception duties, medical record preparation, clinic statistics, and report compilation
• Handle data collection and dissemination regarding patient demographics and third-party payers
• Obtain and track authorizations
• Collect, reconcile, and prepare daily bank deposits for over-the-counter cash
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Two years in a medical office setting that required multi-tasking preferred
• Knowledge of health insurance preferred
• Basic computer skills including keyboard familiarity, word processing, office procedures, filing, verbal and written communication, fax, and photocopy
• Customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with staff, patients, physicians, and community members
• Must be available for early mornings and evenings, including all shifts Monday - Friday
