Patient Service Specialist
About The Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Patient Service Specialist to support a busy outpatient healthcare clinic in Vienna, VA. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and is responsible for managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, patient registration, insurance verification, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Patient Registration & Front Desk Support
- Welcome patients and manage check-in/check-out processes
- Register new patients and update patient demographics
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system
- Customer Service
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions
- Provide friendly and professional support to patients and visitors
- Address patient concerns and direct inquiries appropriately
- Administrative Duties
- Verify insurance information and coverage
- Document patient information and provider notes in the EMR system
- Assist with patient accounts and general office functions
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and referrals as needed
- Multitasking & Office Coordination
- Support providers and clinic staff throughout the day
- Balance phone calls, patient interactions, and administrative tasks simultaneously
- Ensure smooth daily front office operations
Required Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience
- Medical office or healthcare experience
- Front desk or receptionist experience
- Patient registration experience
- Insurance verification knowledge
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Patient check-in/check-out experience
- Prior authorization experience
- Medicaid or insurance processing experience
- Call center or inbound phone support experience

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
