About the Organization

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics, and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular, and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center and consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Rehabilitation Services provides physical and occupational therapy services to both inpatients and outpatients across the full continuum of care. Our trained experts specialize in innovative programs for people with physical and cognitive disabilities and injuries, including brain injury, stroke, spinal cord disorders, orthopedic injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, multiple sclerosis, amputations, arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, and chronic pain.

About the Role

If you are highly organized and have a talent for coordinating multiple areas in a single department, you could be the ideal candidate for our Lead Patient Service Representative position. In this role, you will coordinate work activities and staffing at our Rehabilitation Services department.

Responsibilities

  • Train and maintain master schedules for the department.
  • Process professional and technical fees generated by department providers.
  • Interview, register, admit, update, and create patients’ medical records.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities.
  • Assist in administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of clerical support experience in a health care setting, including medical insurance and collection experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • International Classification of Diseases 10th edition (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding certification.
  • Medical terminology experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Pay

26.14 - 28.64 USD per hour
