Patient Registration Specialist

About the role

As the Specialist, Patient Registration you will facilitate new patients’ transition to Option Care Health services, delivering a consistent onboarding experience where patients and referral partners feel Option Care Health makes it easy to transition care. You will work in conjunction with Sales to prepare patients for services and coordinate all aspects of the patient transition to home or alternate infusion sites.

Responsibilities

• Engage with patient, referral source, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery.
• Create, communicate, and obtain all required documentation for new referrals.
• Secure patient’s upfront payment, including assisting patients to find avenues for payment where needed (identify opportunities and direct patients to financial assistance programs).
• Support ongoing activities to ensure clean claims, on-hold and denial management (follow up on missing paperwork).
• Assist Patient Registration Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years of related experience required.
• Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus.
• High degree of customer service skills required.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and collaborate with cross-functional team members across sales and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous healthcare or medical billing experience preferred.

Pay

Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay range is $16.61–$26.96 per hour.
