The Patient Registration Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience from the moment individuals enter the hospital. This position supports hospital operations by accurately collecting patient information, verifying details, and assisting with registration and clerical processes across all shifts.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner
- Complete patient registration and verify demographic and insurance information
- Utilize computer systems and office equipment to input and manage patient data
- Provide clear communication and assistance to patients and families
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and procedures
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support patient flow
- Perform additional clerical or support duties as needed
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are essential
- The ability to operate computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and other office equipment is necessary
- An attention to detail and accuracy in data entry is important
- Previous experience in customer relations or a service-oriented role is preferred
