Patient Receivables and Cash Posting Manager

About the role

Oversees the Claim Posting, Patient Receivable, and Customer Service departments to ensure accurate and efficient posting of payments and adjustments to the hospital and physician systems, maximum and timely collection of patient responsibility amounts, and excellent customer service to AHS patients and families. Supports the customer-focused revenue cycle process by providing targeted employee training. Completes reports and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and efficient posting of payments and adjustments to hospital and physician systems.
• Oversee timely collection of patient responsibility amounts.
• Provide excellent customer service to AHS patients and families.
• Support the revenue cycle process through targeted employee training.
• Complete reports and special projects as needed.
• Conduct all activities in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements, including HIPAA, Medicare Secondary Payer Screening, medical necessity screening, ABN rules, Red Flag Rules, and billing and coding compliance.
• Adhere to Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
• Apply knowledge of AHS managed care payer rules.

Requirements

• Previous management or supervisory experience.
• Fully knowledgeable of regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, Medicare Secondary Payer Screening, medical necessity screening, ABN rules, Red Flag Rules, billing and coding compliance).
• Knowledge of Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
• Understanding of AHS managed care payer rules.
• Advance degree or active pursuit of an advanced degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient receivable resolution experience.
• AAHAM or HFMA certification.
• Previous hospital billing experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of third-party and self-pay billing procedures, claim review, and analysis.
