Responsibilities
- Aid patients in understanding Medicare programs, resources, and insurance coverage options.
- Help patients navigate insurance issues, including coverage, benefits, summaries, and eligibility.
- Advocate for patients by resolving medical bills both within and outside of Oak Street Health.
- Manage the welcome visit and orientation process for new Oak Street Health patients.
- Inform patients about applying for public benefits, such as Public Aid and Extra Help for prescription drugs.
- Collaborate with the clinic management team on operational activities, including scheduling and billing.
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster patient engagement through events.
- Address operational needs as assigned by the practice manager or associate patient relations manager.
Requirements
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel, etc.
- US work authorization.
- Strongly preferred qualifications include proficiency in non-English languages spoken by Oak Street Health’s patient population.
- Experience helping patients or customers understand their insurance coverage.
- A passion for creating an unmatched patient experience.
- A problem-solving orientation and a flexible, positive attitude.
- Experience in sales or customer service.
- CRM experience is a plus.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience assisting patients or members with navigating the healthcare system, especially related to Medicare and managed care.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in non-English languages like Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve (where necessary).

Benefits
The typical pay range for this role is $21.10 - $40.90. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
