Patient Financial Counselor - Full Time

About the role

Responsible for providing financial assistance services to patients and families, including handling inquiries about Medicaid eligibility, assisting with paperwork, and counseling on Medicaid guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound calls, follow-up work queues, and document patient information.
• Screen patients for Medicaid/Charity Care programs and assist with application submissions.
• Verify insurance eligibility, process mail, and complete presumptive eligibility for eligible patients.
• Inform patients of payment options and financial assistance, negotiate payment arrangements, and prepare estimates based on treatment and insurance info.
• Handle complex issues, refer only the most intricate problems, and provide leadership or mentorship as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in customer service or relevant fields.

Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
