Patient Education Manager (West)
About the Role
This is a field-based position within the commercial team, focused on supporting Rhythm’s patient-centric business model. You will engage with patients and caregivers to provide education, care coordination, and resolution of treatment access barriers. The role involves building strong relationships with individuals living with rare neuroendocrine diseases and their caregivers, serving as a key resource throughout their journey. You will also connect patients and healthcare providers to relevant resources to optimize care, working collaboratively within a team environment. The primary territory covers Phoenix, AZ, UT, and surrounding areas, with potential adjustments based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver in-depth disease state and product education to inform and empower patients and caregivers as they navigate treatment access.
- Identify and resolve patient-specific barriers, developing action plans to help patients and caregivers manage their disease and treatment as recommended by their healthcare provider.
- Conduct education programs (in-person and virtual), including injection education training for patients and families.
- Provide care coordination for patients and caregivers, acting as a liaison with the Field Access Manager, Territory Manager/Sales, and specialty pharmacy to facilitate reimbursement and fulfillment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to address complex patient and customer issues.
- Respond to customer inquiries, provide education and support, and triage to available resources.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of regional trends, including payor and customer landscapes.
- Meet documentation requirements to track critical metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements for regional commercial activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; nursing, social work, dietitian, or clinical background is required.
- 6+ years of related experience, including supporting patients within Rare Disease.
- Knowledge of the insurance and payor landscape and the U.S. reimbursement process.
- Prior product launch experience preferred.
- Ability to work quickly and flexibly with resource constraints, exhibiting a results-driven mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
- Willingness and ability to travel in the U.S. (up to 50% travel). This role is field-based, and candidates must have easy access to transportation and airports.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $135,000 - $215,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. This role may also be eligible for benefits and other compensation, such as restricted stock units.
