Patient Care Coordinator

Nielsen Eye Center is a leading ophthalmology and eye care practice specializing in LASIK, cataract surgery, and comprehensive vision care. With offices in Quincy, Norwell, Norwood, and Weymouth, our mission is to provide patients with personalized attention and exceptional care. We are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator who is passionate about helping others and interested in building a career in healthcare administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a friendly and professional experience from arrival through check-out.
- Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and billing information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collect and post patient payments, including co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant patient records and documentation.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to patient questions, and schedule or confirm appointments.
- Support clinical and administrative teams to maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day.
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments, procedures, and financial policies.
- Participate in staff meetings and assist with departmental projects or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare front desk, or patient services role a plus.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computers, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between all Nielsen Eye Center locations.
- A professional attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
