Patient Care Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients, assisting with check-in, answering phones, performing new patient intakes and scheduling appointments.
  • Executing and overseeing coordination of care documents on behalf of patients.
  • Sending and tracking Prior Authorizations, maintaining a tracking spreadsheet.
  • Aiding patients with insurance forms, informing about financial responsibilities, collecting and accounting for fees, enforcing fee collection policies.
  • Conducting monthly insurance eligibility and demographic updates.
  • Assisting with visitor and vendor identification, logging building entry.
  • Maintaining an organized waiting area and reporting suspicious activity.
  • Supporting the Medical Assistant, assisting with daily tasks such as cleaning and verifying patient identification.
  • Entering data into the Central Registry, managing office supplies, and scheduling appointments.
  • Participating in Treatment Team meetings, creating and typing documents as needed.
  • Completing additional training, meeting attendance and punctuality standards, and performing other duties as assigned.
  • Running work-related errands such as mail and bank transactions.
  • Complying with state and federal regulations regarding Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Exemplary communication skills by phone or in person.
  • Knowledge and use of commonly used office equipment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and information release protocols.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Pass a criminal background check.

Job Information

Required in-person work at Cedar Recovery’s Knoxville OTP location. 12-hour shifts [office hours] with rotating Saturdays. Full-time benefits provided.
