Patient Care Coordinator
About the role
The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) provides day-to-day administrative support to hospitalists, enabling clinicians to maximize their time spent on patient care. This non-clinical position is ideal for individuals with hospital medicine experience, a clinical background, critical thinking skills, and a focus on patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support several physicians on an administrative level.
- Interact and follow through with patients to provide excellent customer service.
- Engage with local physicians and hospital administration to help grow the program.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Experience working within a healthcare setting.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology; knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and type for extended periods.
- Up-to-date immunizations and COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for relating to people at various levels of the organization.
Schedule
- Full-time, onsite position.
- Standard bi-weekly hours: 75.00.
- Scheduled work hours: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM or 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
- Rotating weekend and holiday requirement.
- No on-call or rotation shifts.
Pay
Salary range: $16.00 – $20.63 per hour. Wage determined based on candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
