About the role

A Patient Coordinator is accountable for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. Duties include responding to patient care needs, performing 12-lead EKGs, applying and checking restraints, performing wound and stoma care, specimen collection, assisting with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges, maintaining office and patient care floor stock, and performing the duties of a unit secretary.

Responsibilities

  • Answering call lights and assisting patients with hygiene care
  • Obtaining vital signs and communicating with the care team
  • Performing 12-lead EKGs as per training and competency
  • Applying and checking restraints as directed
  • Performing wound and stoma care, specimen collection
  • Assisting with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges
  • Maintaining office and patient care floor stock/supplies
  • Performing the duties of a unit secretary
  • Maintaining patient charts, responding to phone calls, managing daily assignment boards, providing equipment care/cleaning, performing errands, and providing accurate information to the interdisciplinary team
  • Assisting physicians and RNs as directed

Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program, certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice, current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval, 1+ years of previous experience in a healthcare setting, strong oral and written communication skills, regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts, ability to work nights and/or weekends, manual dexterity for manipulating complex and delicate equipment, and the ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.

Qualifications

Preferred: 1+ years of previous experience in a healthcare setting.

Skills

Technical skills and experience gathering patient data and performing patient care tasks such as weight, height, vitals, intake/output measures, EKGs, and specimen collection. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work nights and/or weekends.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $19.41 - $28.14.
