Position Summary
Evolve Psychiatry is seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented Patient Care Coordinator (Receptionist) to join our team in our Massapequa office. As the first point of contact for patients, this individual plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, professional, and supportive environment while ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the front office.
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Check patients in and out for appointments.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Schedule new patient consultations, follow-up appointments, and provider transfers.
- Cover provider schedules and maximize appointment availability.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
- Collect copays and other patient payments in accordance with office procedures.
- Absorb patients with completing intake paperwork and required documentation.
- Maintain accuracy of patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Route clinical questions, refill requests, and patient concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.
- Communicate effectively with providers, therapists, billing, and administrative departments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception and waiting areas.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Provide exceptional customer service to every patient interaction.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 12 years experience in a medical reception, patient care coordinator, or healthcare administrative role.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced medical office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or another medical specialty.
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMRs), preferably eClinicalWorks.
- Experience collecting patient payments.
- Experience scheduling for multiple healthcare providers.
