About the Role

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long-term care facility in Hanson, Kentucky, committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are seeking a self-motivated, energetic Patient Aide I to join our team-centered environment. Flexible scheduling and premiums for holidays, weekends, and shifts are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal hygiene, including grooming, nutrition, elimination, safety, and psychosocial needs.
• Supports residents in restorative dining, regular meals, and supplement feedings.
• Assists residents with exercise and mobility needs, including transferring, transporting, positioning, and ambulating.

Requirements

• No formal education or prior experience required.
• Must pass a fingerprint-supported national background check prior to employment (convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190 may disqualify applicants).

Working Conditions

• Normal working conditions within a healthcare facility, including potential exposure to persons with abnormal behaviors and/or contagious diseases.
• Frequent exposure to blood and body fluids; adherence to safety procedures is required.
