Patient Aide I (Interim)

Interim position lasting less than nine months, eligible for overtime pay, 40 hours per week.

About the role

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long-term care facility in Hanson, Kentucky dedicated to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are seeking a self-motivated, energetic Patient Aide I to join our team-centered environment. Flexible scheduling and premium pay for holidays, weekends, and shifts are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene, including grooming, nutrition, elimination, safety, and psychosocial needs.
• Support residents in restorative dining, regular meals, and supplement feedings.
• Assist residents with exercise and mobility needs by transferring, transporting, positioning, and ambulating.

Requirements

• No formal education, experience, training, or skills required.
• Must pass a fingerprint-supported national background check prior to employment; convictions listed in 906 KAR 1:190 disqualify applicants.

Working Conditions

• Normal working conditions within a healthcare facility, including potential exposure to persons with abnormal behaviors and/or contagious diseases.
• Frequent exposure to blood and body fluids; adherence to safety procedures is required.

Pay

$14.84 hourly.
